I began my journey as a fibre artist a few years ago whilst learning techniques to teach people who I support. I have always enjoyed the feel, colour and smell of natural fibres and took it upon myself to thoroughly research embroidery, needle felting and wet felting practices using a variety of mediums and taking inspiration from other wet-felting artists.
I like to focus on the principles of working with natural fibres and how to best celebrate them- in turn depicting my love of nature and the changing of the seasons.
I enjoy portraying small details in my work such as cloud formations, heather clad hills and the colours within them.
My inspiration comes from annual holidays at my brothers cottage in Gairloch in the highlands of Scotland and North Yorkshire where I live.
