As a child I spent long happy summer holidays on my grandparent’s farm which was part arable and part livestock. In my working life I organised outdoor education and mountaineering ventures for children in the upland areas of Britain and North Yorkshire.

When I paint now I combine these influences and draw on the rich tapestry of past images to create work in which I try to present the Yorkshire landscape, characters and life of which I am proud.

I have always been a fan of Border Collies and own two, Belle a rough haired and Jess a smooth haired. Of course they are the stars in my paintings.
